Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19th, 1965. She is an American actor and producer. Her most famous character is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. After the seventh season Sedgwick won the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended on August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007), and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was an therapist for speech and family, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick has declared that she is Jewish and has been a participant in Passover meals.
